Default Rates allow you to indicate your typical hourly rate to Buyers. This is the rate Buyers and Project Owners see when they search for experts and help them shortlist experts by setting expectations on cost and value. Default rates are starting point when you're invited to submit a proposal for a project.

Four steps to set your rates:

1. Select My Profile from the master navigation menu.

2. Select the right vendor profile.

  • Select your name to select your individual profile; or
  • Select the name of the desired company

3. Select Rates from the list of profile screens.

  • The Rates page will appear in the main panel to the right

4. Set your default rate.

  • In Default Hourly Rate, enter your standard hourly rate in US Dollars ($USD)
  • Your default rate is shown to buyers and browsers when viewing vendors
  • This should be an indicator of your price point and not a fixed rate
  • Be smart here: set your rates too high and you might put buyers off, set it too low and you could create negotiating challenges when buyers expect you to deliver work below your achievable price point

Why are rates in $ USD only?

  • Savio vendor rates are in USD to make them easily comparable by buyers
  • Setting rates in USD does not mean you will be paid in USD or deal with US-based buyers
  • Individual projects can be negotiated to be priced and invoiced in $USD, €EUR or £GBP
  • Having rates in all of these currencies would make it difficult to compare vendors on their typical price points
